27 Days to my wedding! Oh geez.
One thing I haven’t discussed at all on here is how I’ll proceed with changing my name. It’s actually a very complicated process. The top three – and most important – places that you have to contact when you change your name are:
- Social Security Administration
- Your local DMV
- HR Department at Place of Employment (after you’ve got your SS Card)
Some other people you should contact (within the first 30 days after you get hitched… if possible):
I’m starting to understand why women have started to keep their maiden name more often these days… however, I’d still like the same last name as my husband. I tend to be traditional though… to my core.
For a few more ideas check out About.com. I’ve found their lists to be most helpful when determining what I need to do after the wedding.
