Life of a Bride-to-Be : Wedding Budgeting 101 (Chapter 3)

I’ve done some more reading – and I’ve found some interesting stats about everything from average costs of weddings to average costs of rings. Brace yourselves, the results are devastating…

Average wedding cost: $27,800 according to http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-budget/qa/what-does-the-average-wedding-cost.aspx?MsdVisit=1

No comment… still trying to absorb that astronomical estimate.

Average length of engagement: 16 months according to this online blogger. Guess I’m a little less than that… at 6 months! http://marriage.families.com/blog/engagement-stats

About.com reports the average cost of engagement rings today to be between $3,500 and $5,000. (I’ll let you in on a secret… I believe my bling was purchased for less than 1/5th of the average and I’m perfectly happy!)

This was exhausting and thinking about it even seems expensive… I’ll have to get back to you on this whole budget thing another day.
