Savings 101: Savings Accounts

Most savings and money market accounts are easy enough to understand. Banks usually allow a certain number of withdrawals without a fee and offer a low interest rate as an incentive to save.

It’s great to have a savings account to save for rainy days, but because I already have a savings account established, I want to make sure I can’t access this amount for at least a year… Not even for “rainy days.”

For questions about your bank’s current offerings on savings or money market accounts, it’s best to check out their Web site or stop in. Often they’ll have incentives for opening an account or help you weigh your savings options.

Savings account… not this time.
